we’re currently reading for issue one. send us your best documentary poetics — we’d love to see what you’re working on.
coastlines review welcomes submissions of poetry and hybrid work that engage with documentary materials, archival fragments, preserved history, and the question of what gets recorded and what gets erased.
what we’re looking for
- poetry that incorporates or responds to documentary sources
- work that interrogates the archive — what it holds and what it omits
- hybrid forms that blur the line between document and imagination
- pieces that explore testimony, memory, and evidence
submission guidelines
- submit 3–5 poems or 1–2 hybrid/longer works
- include everything in a single pdf or word document
- add a brief bio (100 words max) in the body of your email
- simultaneous submissions are fine — just let us know if work is accepted elsewhere
- previously published work isn’t accepted
we also welcome visual submissions — collage, photography, mixed media, and other image-based work that engages with documentary sources, or that explores coastlines themselves and what they evoke. send high-resolution files (jpg, png, or tiff) as attachments.
